LOCAL HISTORICAL WALKS
Gene Domagala is leading a walk at 1pm Monday September 6th (Labour Day Holiday) meeting at the NW corner of Danforth Avenue & Main Street. Gene's walk will likely focus on the area that was the town of East Toronto (annexed by the City of Toronto, 1908/1909). It's likely to include the role of the railways in the development of the area and the walk may venture over the Main Street bridge & west on Gerrard I am guessing.
Here's a site to bookmark ... http://lostrivers.ca/WalkSchd.htm check back from time to time to see if they will do any more walks this year. John Wilson (he also heads up the Bring Back the Don Committee) is the man for their walks -- great guy; he lives in Riverdale.
They have a walk on Danforth Sunday August 29th at 11 am -- meets south side of Danforth just WEST of Broadview (on the bridge).
The Jane's Walks are around May 1st each year http://www.janeswalk.net/cities/category/toronto/ -- but some of the leaders have walks of their own throughout the year.
I'd appreciate if you let me know of any walks other than those appearing on the above 3 web links.
